I read your piece on Woolworth’s pet turtles. It seems to me they painted stupid little sayings on their backs along with designs. Remember any?
I know that turtles at carnivals had words and pictures painted on their backs — poor things — but I don’t recall Woolworth turtles having this. However, millions of small green turtles were shipped to five-and-ten stores, so some could have been decorated. Thanks for sharing this.
Many years ago I bought a Felix Cat Scratching Post. My cats automatically took to it. I still have it and 2 others. They are the best.
